Müller spends the lion’s share of her time on stage as Xerxes – an alien observer of human bureaucratic rituals, and a cool counterpoint to Kay’s fire. In both roles, Müller leans into measured physical comedy and understated wit; with Xerxes in particular, she conjures a presence that feels both otherworldly and quietly stabilizing.
Maria Müller and Vas Eli both impressively pull double duty also playing the parts of the smart and witty Alien and honest and emotional Romanian immigrant Corneliu respectively.
And then, in the play’s most whimsical yet piercing twist, there is an actual alien from Pluto, Xerxes, played with curiosity and quiet wonder by Maria Müller.
And indeed, a Plutonian alien named Xerxes (a delightfully quirky Maria Müller) does visit Earth.

Maria Müller perfectly embodied Faye as a girl who, at times, seems to be emotionally balanced but is clearly in a liminal space between sane and psychotic.

Rounding out the cast is Maria Müller as Cass. Her performance is incredibly powerful, and she manages to capture a lot of complexity.
The three actors are astonishing—over the course of 75 minutes one grows to fully believe they have had decades together of happiness and heartbreak, joy and sadness, connection and conflict.
